Tech Summit

Thursday, March 15 at 1:00 PM, CPCC's Central Campus

Are you doing something interesting or innovative

with technology in your library?

Share it with other local librarians!

Librarians come together  to share how they are using technology to meet patron needs or make their jobs a little easier. The group is relatively small, the tone is informal, and we'll have snacks!

We typically schedule three 20-30 minute presentations during the Summit - this is an initial call for proposals.

If you have something you'd like to share, please email a short description to mark.coltrain@cpcc.edu by February 9. Please include your library affiliation, any special requirements, and how many presenters. Our meeting space will have a computer with projector, screen, and audio capabilities.

  • Thursday, March 15, 2018
  • 1:00 - 3:00pm
  • Central Piedmont Community College's Central Campus
  • Building/room TBA.
  • Parking is free and plentiful.
  • The event is free and open to all MLA members (whether you're doing something innovative or not!).

We look forward to hearing your great ideas!

A Special Statement from Metrolina Library Association's Executive Board - August 22, 2017

The Metrolina Library Association’s Executive Board reaffirms the values emphasized in our mission statement: awareness, cooperation, social interaction, continuing education, and sharing. We use these values to lead by example in our respective communities and stay committed to preserving our libraries as safe spaces and places of welcome. Our spaces and resources allow us and our users endless possibilities to foster curiosity, literacy, learning, inclusion, diversity, equality, and civil dialogue. Now, more than ever, librarians must safeguard these values to ensure libraries remain dynamic places devoted to education, intellectual freedom, equal access, and opportunity for all. We are stronger and better when we work together to achieve our common goals which will, ultimately, lead to a healthier democracy.

Metrolina Library Association is made up of librarians and paraprofessionals from public, academic, school and special libraries, and other individuals interested in libraries.  We encourage awareness and cooperation, provide opportunities for social interaction among Charlotte area library professionals, offer continuing education opportunities, and encourage cooperation, networking, and resource sharing among Charlotte area libraries.
