Metrolina Library Association was founded in 1969. It combines the former Mecklenburg Library Association and the former Metrolina Library Association. It is made up of librarians and paraprofessionals from public, academic, school and special libraries and of other individuals interested in libraries to:
  • Encourage and foster awareness and cooperation.
  • Provide opportunities for social interaction among members.
  • Provide continuing education opportunities.
  • Encourage cooperation, networking, and resource sharing among libraries in the Metrolina area.

7th Annual Information Literacy Conference Updates

headshot of jessamyn westMetrolina Library Association is please to announce that the keynote speaker for 7th Annual Information Literacy Conference will by Jessamyn West.  Jessamyn West is a well-know library blogger whose avant-guarde views on librarianship and 'information justice' has caused a stir in the library world.  She lives in rural Vermont and assists libraries in adapting to the digital age.  Ms. West is an avid blogger and advocate of freedom of information.  We look forward to her presence at the conference.

2011 Winter Luncheon

On December 7th, Metrolina Library Association hosted its annual Winter Luncheon at the Arts Institute of Charlotte.  Peggy Hoon, Copyright Librarian at UNC-Charlotte, was our guest speaker and answered librarians' frequently asked questions about copyright. See what you missed.
